Brooke Michaelis - LMFT

Introduction

I believe it is vital to create a trusting, safe, and non judgmental environment with my clients to address their problems and goals during our time together. It is important for each person to recognize their own individual worth and what they can contribute to the relationships in their life.

Everyone has their own unique strengths that allow them to grow and cope with stressors in their lives, but sometimes we need help identifying those strengths. As a licensed marriage and family therapist, I believe in the importance of supporting people in building and strengthening their relationships whether that may be with a spouse, partner, friend or family member.

I have been successful working with children, adolescents and adults with a wide variety of issues, concerns and goals. I am experienced working with families to build healthier dynamics within each of the family systems. My therapeutic style is focused on a client centered environment while incorporating cognitive-behavioral therapy, play therapy, family systems, narrative, and behavioral therapy depending on the client’s needs and what will be most beneficial to them in our therapeutic process together. With children, I typically utilize interventions that speak to how children naturally interact, such as play or art techniques.
